Stripping Cyberbullies of Power

"Rhetoric does not get you anywhere, because Hitler
and Mussolini are just as good at rhetoric.
But if you can bring these people down with comedy,
they stand no chance." ~ Mel Brooks

Lisa Bloom is once again repping a high-profile client, which gets them both in front of news cameras. But what happened to me six years ago was/is infinitely worse than what just happened to Kathy Griffin; she's claiming her career is destroyed.

Stars Think They Can Do Anything

"I knew when I grew up, I always wanted to be a liar,
and if you're in television, you're lying because you're just pretending
to be yourself much like I'm doing now." ~ John Ritter

I'm going public with something that happened to me in the early 1990s. Some of you won't like it and I'll be attacked for maligning the name of a beloved actor who is dead. But I want people to know that Donald Trump told a truth about celebrity privilege when he bragged:

"I'm automatically attracted to beautiful [women]—I just start kissing them. It's like a magnet. Just kiss. I don't even wait. And when you're a star they let you do it. You can do anything ... Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything."
Some male celebs think it's okay to behave a certain way. When it happened to me, I was stunned and afraid to put the actor in his place because of who he was. I now wish I had handled it differently. I've been stalked, harassed, and sexually assaulted by men, with a few being male celebrities. Here's the story of one of them.

Trump and the N-Word

The N-word I'm talking about is Nepotism. What'd you think I meant? Narcissist? Well, that's a given and could provide fodder for daily, if not hourly posts.

But today I'm here to talk to you about Nepotism, which is defined as "the practice among those with power or influence of favoring relatives or friends, especially by giving them jobs."

Speaking of relatives... as the daughter of an attorney and former legal secretary, following is my amateur legal opinion and interpretation of law as it relates to Donald Trump's plan to give his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, a high profile position as "Chief Adviser" in his upcoming (and hopefully short-lived) administration.

Boycott Wall Street Journal

"No one can terrorize a whole nation,
unless we are all his accomplices." ~ Edward R. Murrow

Gerard T. Baker, Editor-in-Chief of the Wall Street Journal, has announced that his paper refuses to use the word "lie" with respect to Donald Trump, even when Trump is lying.

Baker claims that the word "lie" means there was a deliberate intent to deceive. He believes accusing Trump of telling lies (even if they are lies) will suggest bias, a lack of neutral reporting, and irresponsible journalism.

Perhaps Baker is unaware the dictionary also defines a lie as: "an inaccurate or false statement; a falsehood." The refusal of Baker and the WSJ to call Trump out on his lies demonstrates their lack of journalistic integrity.

It also indicates the WSJ is biased in favor of Trump. As such, I call upon everyone to boycott and cancel your subscriptions to the Wall Street Journal immediately.

Trivia: The News Corporation owns the WSJ and Fox News. This demonstrates, more than ever, how vigilant we must be with respect to which media sources we trust.

"We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty.
When the loyal opposition dies, I think the
soul of America dies with it." ~ Edward R. Murrow

Open Letter to the Electors

"You can't make this issue partisan. It is too important.
A fundamental part of a democracy is a free and fair election." - Sen. McCain

I sent an email to the Electors via AskTheElectors.org. As a few have already bounced back, some email addresses are wrong. Many have auto-replies in place, likely due to the barrage of emails they're receiving.

Of course, after clicking send, I thought of additional things I should have said, such as:
  • Trump is endorsed by the KKK. Hate crimes are on the rise since the election. His administration is rife with bigots: anti-gay, anti-Black, anti-Muslim, anti-Jew, anti-Woman, and therefore, anti-American.

The Unbearable Lightness of Inaction

“It's the action, not the fruit of the action, that's important.
You have to do the right thing.
It may not be in your power, may not be in your time, that there'll be any fruit.
But that doesn't mean you stop doing the right thing.
You may never know what results come from your action.
But if you do nothing, there will be no result.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi

This is a quick post with its message focused on the importance of taking action (versus taking none), regardless of whether the desired outcome is guaranteed. It was prompted by a contentious conversation I had last night at a local Meetup event with two individuals whom I'd never met before. One was female (under 30) and the other was male (50ish).

Both were Democrats who supported Hillary Clinton.

(General) Michael Flynn Must Be Court-Martialed

"Stupidity is a talent for misconception." ~ Edgar Allan Poe

HISTORY FACT
Edgar Allan Poe was court-martialed at West Point for “gross neglect of duty and disobedience of orders,” and was dismissed on March 6, 1831.

PRESENT DAY FACT
On November 2, 2016, Michael T. Flynn, slated to be president-elect Donald J. Trump's "National Security Adviser," tweeted this:

Chew on this, Chris Christie...

Mr. Christie,

It is telling that on your presidential campaign page, you've made it impossible for American voters to send you their thoughts, compared to President Obama who has an entirely accessible administration. Are you afraid to hear feedback that doesn't support your views?

The policies you plan to implement strip us of even more of our civil liberties. You want to send America backwards, rather than being forward-thinking and acknowledging the evolution of society.
